ULCERS...

I'm 26yrs. old and I have had a peptic ulcer since I was about 15yrs. old. Doctors say it was due to stress and eating the wrong foods. Although I have learn to live with it, some days are very difficult. I've tried all the medications you can think of. Right now I am currently taking Prilosec and when that doesn't work I'll usually just chug some Mylanta. Some days I wake up sick, I don't even have to eat anything and I'm already burping in the morning with some stomach discomfort. My diet is semi-strict I don't eat anything spicy, nor foods that contain to much acid, and I don't drink caffeine at all. Still through following a semi-strict diet I get very sick from my stomach. Sadly theres not much doctors can do for ulcers other than treat them. They say the "purple pill" (Nexium) can shrink ulcers but I'm no expert. All I know is that I'm sick of being sick...I want to eat spicy foods again and not have to worry about getting sick. I wanted to start this blog site to share some remedies that have worked for me through out the years as well as get input from you guys out there in the world who also suffer from this pain staking disease known as ulcers. We need to unite and give each other feedback so that we may fight these demons that live inside of us. Together we can help each other live happier lives without stomach ulcers.

Ulcer is a small erosion (hole) in the gastrointestinal tract. The most common type, duodenal, occurs in the first 12 inches of small intestine beyond the stomach. Ulcers that form in the stomach are called gastric ulcers. An ulcer is not contagious or cancerous. Duodenal ulcers are almost always benign, while stomach ulcers may become malignant.
